What are 3 pieces of advice that you would give someone who’s just beginning their journey with software development today?
There are three pieces that I got when I first started coding from my mentor that today are helping me become a better developer, the patience to teach others, the ability to communicate my ideas, and being a team player.
A year ago, if you would’ve told me that my 8 years as a photographer working as a freelancer and also for an advertising agency would help me become a software developer, I probably would’ve laughed…
Discuss how having the patience to teach others has helped me become a better coding partner.
Communication is key to becoming more patient with each other as partners. Take the time to discuss matters that are important to both of you, may they be individual aspirations, joint plans, or problems. It is essential that you lay the issues down and asks each other’s opinions about them. You may not always agree to one’s decision but by discussing and listening to each side, you develop more patience and tolerance for your partner. This has helped me with all my coding partners.
Discuss how my ability to communicate my ideas well has helped me write a better note
Being able to communicate effectively is one of the most important life skills to learn. Communication is defined as transferring information to produce greater understanding. It can be done vocally (through verbal exchanges), through written media (books, websites, and magazines), visually (using graphs, charts, and maps), or non-verbally (body language, gestures, pitch of voice, and tone). All of these means of communication are essential Soft Skills that are vital for a successful Career.
The ability to communicate my ideas well helped me with my standup team a lot of times, I was able to break down coding challenges and write them down in a way my stand-up team can understand.

A teamwork environment promotes an atmosphere that fosters friendship and loyalty. These close relationships motivate people in parallel and align them to work harder, cooperate and be supportive of one another.
Individuals possess diverse talents, weaknesses, communication skills, strengths, and habits. Therefore, when a teamwork environment is not encouraged this can pose many challenges towards achieving the overall goals and objectives. This creates an environment where employees become focused on promoting their own achievements and competing against their fellow colleagues. Ultimately, this can lead to an unhealthy and inefficient working environment. Always have the patience to teach others and become a better partner to fellow developers it will go a long way in your career as a developer, express your ideas clearly and write a strong note to help others understand my code and improve on your communication skills.
